Brief
After the successful installation of Lacons cellar and brewhouse cooling upgrades previously they saw very strong growth in their keg product sales, as a result it became clear that there were efficiencies to be gained from installing a keg washer/filler. The brewery required a machine that would cut out the high rental costs of clean kegs, or the alternative extra time spent cleaning kegs prior to filling, all whilst still enabling them to pack out a full batch of kegs within the same shift pattern that they were currently able to by filling manually.
Solution
The Comac K2 was one of three machines quoted on by various suppliers but Hamish decided that due to both Comac’s reputation in the market and our previous experience he has had with Vigo this was the obvious choice. The machine would enable them to cut a whole day of labour out of keg cleaning or to save on keg rental costs whilst still packing out 55hl of bright beer a shift.
Result
'Whilst this project extended beyond our target date due to various delays with services supply Vigo were able to accommodate the movements in scheduling and still deliver the project with minimal disruption to production output. We are now able to save thousands of pounds per batch in keg rental fees and still have the same daily output in kegged volume all with absolute confidence in our product quality.' – Hamish Cross, Head Brewer, Lacons Brewery
