Willmes have been pioneers in wine pressing technology for over 100 years and continue to produce cutting-edge presses with unique features and capabilities.
The Sphera is developed for pressing red wine mash and whole grapes without rotation. Its patented 360° pressing principle and air distribution system means the membrane inflates evenly, forming a uniform pomace cake around the flexible juice channel. This enables optimum juicing at minimum pressure.
Whether filling the press with 100% or 10% grapes, an even cake forms around the FLEXIDRAIN juice channel, allowing the juice to be efficiently filtered through the cake - combining the principles of a traditional basket press, with the benefits of the modern membrane press.
Models are available from 1000 to 2,000 litre capacities.
Sigma benefits include:
- 360 Technology for Gentle Pressing - Providing a larger surface area for juice extraction, resulting in faster juicing, with much less pressure than a traditional basket press.
- Reduced Lees - Grapes remain in place and are pressed evenly from all sides without damaging the skin resulting in a 70% reduction in lees in the juice compared to conventional presses.
- Simple Filling - Simple and efficient, thanks to the frameless 600mm lid opening, can be easily filled directly with a conveyor belt, funnel or small reading boxes.
